Equipment

Ingredients & substitutions
- Guinness – Using the extra stout gives the float an extra thick
- Ice cream – We used vanilla with chocolate chip ice cream.

How to make a Guinness beer float
Scoop ice cream. Add 2-3 scoops of ice cream to the bottom of a tall glass. We used vanilla with chocolate chips, though plain vanilla would be great in this.
Pour beer. Slowly pour stout beer over ice cream. Allow for some of the fizz to settle, then top it off with a bit more beer and a drizzle with chocolate sauce.
Enjoy your float.

Everything you need to know about a beer and ice cream float
We chose to use guinness for this, but really any stout would work great. Any chocolate or coffee stouts pair great with ice cream. A porter would also work great for this recipe!
