Boston Sour

If you love a whiskey cocktail, you are going to love the Boston sour. It’s a whiskey sour with egg white added, which gives it a luxurious and creamy texture while it mellows out the flavor of the sour mix.

  • Yield: 1 1x


  • 2 ounces whiskey
  • 3/4 ounce lemon juice
  • 3/4 ounce simple syrup
  • 1 egg white (or 3/4 ounce aquafaba)
  • For garnish: orange twist


  1. Add cocktail ingredients to a shaker without ice.
  2. Cover and dry shake vigorously, until the egg white is frothy. 
  3. Add ice and shake again until cold.
  4. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with an orange twist.


Feel free to substitute 1 1/2 ounces of homemade sour mix for the lemon juice and simple syrup.
