Ingredients & substitutions
- Galliano – This is an Italian liqueur that is flavored with a blend of herbs, spices, and vanilla. It is sweet and aromatic, adding an herbal element to the cocktail.
- Creme de cacao – You want white creme de cacao for this cocktail because it won’t interfere with the color of the drink, but if you have dark, the flavor will work just fine.
- Heavy cream – You can use heavy whipping cream or half-and-half for this recipe. I normally have half-and-half stocked in my fridge, so this is what I used and you still get a nice, creamy drink.

How to make a golden cadillac drink
Shake your cocktail. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice ice and add the ingredients. Cover and shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds, this will ensure you get a nice amount of foam from the cream included in the cocktail.
Garnish and serve. Strain contents of the cocktail shaker into a chilled coupe glass. Grate fresh nutmeg over the top of the cocktail and serve.

What does Galliano taste like?
Galliano is an Italian liqueur that has a distinctive, sweet and herbal taste. Along with the herbal and botanical spices, some of the underlying flavors include notes of anise, licorice, vanilla and citrus. This liqueur can be enjoyed traditionally – straight or on the rocks – as an after dinner drink, mixed into classic cocktails, or sometimes served with tonic over ice.
