Why we love the midori illusion
- It’s like a tropical island margarita made with vodka and melon liqueur.
- This cocktail is perfect for sipping on a hot summer day, but it could easily transport you to the tropics in the middle of winter.
- The vibrant green color makes this drink perfect for a St. Patrick’s day celebration.

Ingredients & substitutions
- Midori – This melon liqueur is what give the cocktail it’s distinct color.
- Vodka
- Cointreau – You can substitute another orange liqueur, such as Grand Marnier or dry curaçao.
- Pineapple juice – Canned pineapple juice is just fine here. I don’t normally recommend fresh pineapple juice because it’s just hard to come find near me.
- Lemon juice – Lime juice could be substituted for this recipe. I recommend fresh squeezed citrus if possible.
