Why we love this Christmas margarita
Should we make a rule that every holiday gets its own version of a margarita? I think that’s a really good idea.
There’s something about a margarita that make you want to celebrate, but I wanted to make something super special this holiday season, so I combined my favorite holiday flavors in a blender and whipped up this extra fun mistletoe margarita.
This drink recipe makes just 2 margaritas, but you can easily scale the recipe to serve as many as you need. Just make sure not to overfill your blender. I’d recommend making only about 4 – 6 at a time depending on the capacity of your blender.

Ingredients & Substitutions
- Tequila – Any tequila you like will work, we used a blanco for this one.
- Cointreau – We almost always use Cointreau in our margs, but most orange liqueurs will work. “Regular” triple sec will make your drink a bit sweeter, so keep that in mind when making that swap.
- Rosemary simple syrup – If you don’t have rosemary simple, a ginger simple syrup would be equally delicious.
- Pomegranate juice
- Lime juice – Fresh squeezed is always best, but I think bottled could work here because there are so many other flavors happening in this drink.
- Frozen cranberries – Fresh would work too, but I like to use frozen fruit because it acts as ice.
Making changes to a recipe can result in recipe failure. Any substitutions listed below are simple changes that I believe will work in this recipe, but results are not guaranteed.

Mistletoe Margarita (Christmas Margarita)
Ingredients
- 1 ounce lime juice
- 1 1/2 ounce Cointreau
- 2 1/2 ounces rosemary simple syrup, could use ginger too!
- 3 ounces pomegranate juice
- 3 ounces tequila
- 1 1/2 cups ice
- 1/2 cup frozen cranberries
- For garnish: sugared rim, rosemary sprig, cranberries
Instructions
- Prep your glasses. Rim two cocktail glasses with sugar. You can also serve these in a margarita glass if you want, but that's totally up to you. Set them aside. I don't think you need to chill the glasses for this cocktail since it's going to be frozen.
- Blend your drink. Combine the cocktail ingredients in a blender. Start with the liquid and finish with cranberries and ice. Then, blend the drinks until they're smooth and there are not big chunks of ice.
- Garnish and serve. Divide the margaritas between your prepared glasses and garnish with fresh rosemary and a few extra cranberries. Serve immediately.
