Non Alcoholic Mulled Wine

Jump to Recipe
A glass mug of non alcoholic mulled wine garnished with orange slice, fresh cranberries, star anise and a cinnamon stick.

Why you’ll love this alcohol free mulled wine

  • By using a combination of juices, including unsweetened cranberry juice, this mulled wine isn’t super sweet and it tastes so close to the real thing. If you prefer yours sweeter, swap the unsweetened for traditional cranberry juice.
  • It will make your house smell amazing. Let it simmer on your stove before guests arrive, and they will be greeted by the welcoming scent of mulling spices.
  • This non alcoholic mulled wine can be served to anyone. Kids and adults who don’t imbibe will love the classic mulled wine flavor without any worries.

How to make non alcoholic mulled wine

Mix the fruit juices. Combine the juices in a large stockpot and stir to combine. Drop in the orange slices and spices.

Simmer with spices. Bring the pot to a simmer and allow it to cook for at least 30 minutes. This gives the spices time to infuse into the juice. When you’re ready to serve, use a small strainer to remove the spices from the juice.

Garnish and serve. Ladle the juice into mugs or other heat-proof glassware and garnish with an orange slice, fresh cranberries and a cinnamon stick (optional).

FAQs and tips for making non alcoholic mulled wine

Can you serve mulled wine cold?

Yes you can serve it cold or over ice if you prefer, but make sure you let it cool before putting it on ice or the melted ice will water down the juice mixture.

Can I make non alcoholic mulled wine ahead of time?

Yes. You can make this recipe up to a few days in advance and reheat by simmering again on the stove until warm or transfer it to a crockpot the day you want to serve it. I recommend removing the orange slices before storing it in a large pitcher in the refrigerator. When you’re ready to serve, slice fresh oranges to use for garnish.
