Orgeat Syrup
Orgeat is a deliciously sweet syrup that’s made from almonds, sugar, and rose and orange blossom water. This creamy syrup has a really unique nutty and floral taste to it, but can be tedious to make at home. My recipe for orgeat syrup uses an easy-to-make hack that will get you there in no time.

Why we love this orgeat syrup
If you’ve ever had a mai tai, you’ve had orgeat. This classic cocktail syrup is used in tons of tiki cocktails, but it’s uses aren’t limited to that genre. Try using it in a Hotel Georgia cocktail.
I’ve been buying orgeat at the grocery store for a long time, but it comes in really small bottle that aren’t very cheap. By making it at home, you’ll save money and get a better quality syrup.

Here’s what you’ll need to make it

Ingredients & substitutions
- Almond milk – I use the unsweetened plain almond milk we normally have at home, but you you can make your own if you prefer it.
- Granulated sugar
- Rose water
- Orange blossom water
- Almond extract – This isn’t really necessary in the recipe but I this that it highlights the flavor of the almonds a bit.
- Vodka – This is to help keep the syrup fresher for longer, but it’s totally optional and you can use other basic spirits in its place.
