Equipment
Ingredients & substitutions
- Passion fruit syrup – I like to make homemade, but you can also go with store bought syrup if you can find it.
- Coconut water
- Half-and-half – Heavy cream, or even coconut milk would work here.
- Club soda – You can use sparkling water, even flavored would work.
- Ginger beer – I like to use Fever Tree Refreshingly Light ginger beer to cut back on sugar.
How to make a passion fruit mocktail
Mix your mocktail. Fill a glass with ice. Then, add passion fruit syrup, coconut water and half and half.
Stir to chill. Use a bar spoon to stir the mocktail until it is a creamy orange color and the glass has gotten nice and cold. You should see the glass begin to frost.
Top with bubbly. Add 1 ounce ginger beer and top with club soda. Stir again to incorporate, but be gentle this time so you don’t disturb the fizz.
Garnish and serve. Top your drink with a dried orange wheel before serving. Feel free to play around with different garnish. Use what you like.
Everything you need to know passion fruit drinks
Passion fruit pureé is quite different from passion fruit juice. Both obviously come from the same fruit and have similar flavors but passion fruit pureé is thick like molasses while passion fruit juice is typically thinned with water to be served as a drink alone.
