Scooby Snack Shot

Can you solve the flavor mystery of the Scooby snack shot? This Scooby Doo inspired shooter is reminiscent of the creamy blue fruit snacks, which have since been discontinued by General Mills. If you’re craving that mysterious blue flavor, this shot is for you.

Why we love the scooby snack shot

I’m back with another nostalgic shot for you. This time, we’re throwing it back to the 90’s and recreating the flavor of those opaque fruit snacks that we all loved.

While I’m not sure how the Scooby snack shot came to be, this shot was regularly on the menu at bars I frequented in my 20s, and it’s not surprising that it was a hit with my generation.

A blue green shot topped with whipped cream and a graham cracker "dog bone".

Here’s what you’ll need to make it

Ingredients & substitutions

  • Coconut rum – We normally use Malibu
  • Blue curaçao
  • Creme de banana
  • Whipped cream – Since we’re topping the shot with whipped cream, I like to just squirt some into the shaker, but you can also make this shot by adding about ½ ounce of cream or half & half to the shaker.

How to make this Scooby snack shot recipe.

Shake the shot. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the shot ingredients with a big dollop of whipped cream (or 1/2 ounce of half-and-half). Cover and shake until cold.

Garnish and serve. Strain into shot glasses and garnish with whipped cream.
