Made with fresh blueberries, sugar and water, blueberry simple syrup will add sweet, blueberry flavor and a beautiful purple hue to your cocktails. It's super easy to make and can be stored for up to 1 week in the fridge.
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
In a large saucepan, combine water, sugar, blueberries and lemon juice.
Bring the liquid to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
Continue to simmer until the blueberries have turned the liquid a dark purple color.
Remove from heat and set aside until cool.
Strain it into a mason jar (or other container) to remove the blueberries.
Cover and refrigerate until ready to use. Syrup will stay fresh for about 1 week.
