Prep Time 10 minutes
Servings 6 servings
Lavender simple syrup is a great way to add the beautiful, floral flavor of lavender to your drinks and cocktails. It's easy to make at home without food coloring and can give even a simple cocktail a fresh new taste. Try using it in a purple gin sour to create a beautiful lavender cocktail.

Ingredients

  • ½ water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 ½ tablespoons lavender flower

Instructions

  • Make your syrup. Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring the liquid to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
Remove the pan from heat and add the lavender flowers. Allow the syrup to steep until it has reached room temperature.
  • Strain and store. After a few hours (but ideally overnight), strain the syrup into an airtight container to remove the lavender flowers. Cover and refrigerate for up to 1 week.
