Mint Simple Syrup

This mint simple syrup can be used to infuse fresh mint flavor into your favorite cocktails, like mint juleps, mojitos and even mocktails. This easy mint syrup can be made in just a few minutes, and can even be frozen for fresh minty flavor any time of year.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup water
  • ½ granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves (1 small handful)

Instructions

  • In a large saucepan, combine water and sugar. Bring the liquid to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
  • Add the mint leaves to the syrup. Remove from heat and allow it the syrup to steep until cool.
  • Remove mint and transfer to a mason jar or storage bottle.
  • Refrigerate until ready to use. Syrup will stay fresh for 1 week.
