Made popular in the 1970's, the amaretto stone sour features sweet Italian liqueur mixed with orange juice and sour mix. Garnished with a maraschino cherry and an orange wheel, this light cocktail riff makes for a delicious, well-rounded drink that's perfect for brunch or a summer afternoon.
- 2 ounces amaretto
- 2 ounces orange juice
- 1 1/2 ounces sour mix*
- For garnish: maraschino cherry (orange wheel)
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add amaretto, orange juice and sour mix.
Shake until cold, about 20 seconds.
Strain into a lowball glass filled with ice.
Garnish with a cherry and orange wheel.
