The French 76 is a vodka based variation of the classic champagne cocktail featuring lemon juice, sugar, gin and bubbly. Originally named after the widely used French artillery soixante-quinze, the vodka version will add another, more subtle drink to your cocktail repetoire.
- 1 ounce vodka
- 1/2 ounce lemon juice
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- 3 ounces champagne or prosecco
Combine vodka, lemon juice and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Cover and shake until cold.
Strain into a flute glass and top with champagne.
Garnish with a lemon twist and serve immediately.
