Looking for an alcohol free mulled wine for the holiday season? This non-alcoholic version of tastes just like the classic mulled wine served in European Christmas markets, without wine. This recipe uses a combination of juices to mimic the flavor of wine without tasting too much like the real thing.
- 4 cups unsweetened cranberry juice
- 7 - 8 cups grape juice
- 2 cups apple juice or apple cider
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 orange (sliced)
- 6 cinnamon sticks
- 3 star anise
- 10 cloves
- 2 1- inch pieces fresh ginger (peeled and cubed)
Combine ingredients in a large non-reactive pot.
Heat the pot over low heat and simmer for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours. Be careful not to bring the liquid to a boil or it will cook down and thicken.
Remove the spices before serving.
