Inspired by the 90s cult classic, Practical Magic, these midnight margaritas are made with an enchanting blend of rosemary, lavender and a pinch of salt. They're perfect for a cozy Halloween at home watching your favorite spooky film.
For the rosemary lavender simple syrup:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 sprigs rosemary
- 1 tablespoon culinary lavender flowers
- 2 drops purple food dye (optional)
For the midnight margaritas:
- 2 ounces tequila
- 1 ounce rosemary lavender simple syrup
- 1 ounce lime juice
- ½ ounce orange liqueur
- a pinch of flaky sea salt
For the rosemary lavender simple syrup:
In a
large saucepan, combine water and sugar. Bring the liquid to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
Add the lavender flower and rosemary sprigs to the syrup and allow it to steep for a minimum of 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow syrup to cool.
Strain into an airtight container and stir in food coloring (if desired).
Cover and refrigerate until ready to use. Store for up to 1 week.
For the midnight margaritas:
Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake until well chilled.
Strain and serve over ice.
