How to make a cherry vodka sour

Measure the ingredients. In a cocktail shaker, add vodka, cherry juice, lemon juice and an egg white.

Dry shake the ingredients. Wait to add ice until after you give the ingredients a good shake, this will give you the most froth from the egg white.

Add ice and shake again. Throw some ice into the cocktail shaker at this point and give it a quick shake to chill the cocktail.

Strain and pour. You’ll strain and pour the cocktail right after shaking it with ice. If you leave it on ice it will begin to water it down and the wonderful frothy texture will fade away.

Everything you need to know about a vodka sour cocktail

What does egg white do to alcoholic drinks?

The egg white, when shaken creates a light, fluffy, foamy texture giving the cocktail a delicious smooth feel. Make sure you add your ice after shaking to ensure your drink is chilled properly.

Do you shake an egg white cocktail with ice?

You should shake the cocktail first without ice, also known as a “dry shake”. They you will want to add some ice and shake again. Shaking with ice initially will not allow the egg white to fully froth.

They are just regular maraschino cherries from my local grocery store.
