Why you’ll love the showgirl spritz
This cocktail is the perfect blend of an Aperol spritz and a pornstar martini – with bittersweet Aperol, passion fruit liqueur, fizzy prosecco – and a little gin because we know Taylor loves it.
It’s a little sweet and a little sassy, just like any proper showgirl. But, most important, it’s orange and sparkly so it’s the perfect way to celebrate Taylor’s new album release this weekend.

Ingredients + swaps
- Gin – If you don’t like gin, swap it for vodka or leave it out for a lower ABV.
- Aperol – You don’t want to swap this one. Aperol has just the right balance of bitter and sweet to make this drink work.
- Prosecco – Prosecco is a bit sweeter than traditional champagne and generally a lot cheaper. If you want to swap, another sparkling wine will work, just don’t pick an extra dry one.
- Lemon juice – Fresh squeezed is always best, but you could use bottled in a pinch. Lime will also work here.
- Lemon lime soda – Any brand will work here, but if you want to use diet or sparkling water that will work great, too.
Making changes to a recipe can result in recipe failure. Any substitutions listed below are simple changes that I believe will work in this recipe, but results are not guaranteed.

Mel’s cocktail tips + tricks
- Fresh squeezed is always best. I recommend juicing your citrus when you’re making your cocktail, but if you need to prep, do it as close to when you’re serving as possible.
- Always chill your cocktail glasses. If you have room in your fridge or freezer, pop them in ahead of time. If not, chill them with ice while you make your drinks!
