Why we love these pumpkin margaritas
Holiday drinks are some of my favorites to create. They bring people together and make the festivities just a bit more fun. Not that we need alcohol to be fun, but you know what I mean.
These pumpkin margaritas are a go-to for Thanksgiving, and unlike a lot of other fall margarita recipes, you don’t need to make a simple syrup. This one is made with real maple syrup and a hint of pumpkin pie spice.

Ingredients & substitutions
- Tequila – I used a blanco tequila for this recipe, but I think a resposado would be delicious in this.
- Pumpkin purée – You want regular pumpkin puree for this, not pumpkin pie filling.
- Pumpkin pie spice – If you don’t have this, you can swap cinnamon and a bit of nutmeg.
- Triple sec – Any orange liqueur will work. Use what you have!
- Maple syrup – Real maple syrup is what you need for this recipe. If you don’t have that, try agave nectar or simple syrup. I don’t recommend using pancake syrup.
Making changes to a recipe can result in recipe failure. Any substitutions listed below are simple changes that I believe will work in this recipe, but results are not guaranteed.
