Southern Comfort Cocktail

Southern comfort cocktails in mason jar glasses, garnished with orange and cherry.

Why I love this southern comfort cocktail

  • I honestly have’t give my given much thought to Southern Comfort since I have a few too many snakebite shots in my college days.
  • This cocktail is sweet, yet still balanced with the addition of ginger beer, and the distinct flavor of Southern Comfort doesn’t overpower the drink.
  • Instead, it blends with the rest of the ingredients to create a subtle punch-link flavor that’s really delicious.

Ingredients:

  • Southern Comfort – This is essential for a Southern Comfort cocktail, so swapping it out won’t work. If you have to swap it out, a flavored whiskey such as this honey whiskey would be your best choice.
  • Amaretto – You can swap the amaretto for another nut-based liqueur, such as Frangelico. You can also use orgeat or creme de noyaux.
  • Fresh lime juice – If you don’t have limes, you can use bottle lime juice or fresh lemon juice.
  • Grenadine – Store bought grenadine with food coloring while give you a better color in this cocktail, but homemade grenadine is always a great option.
  • Ginger beer – If you can’t find ginger beer, you can substitute a quality ginger ale.
