Why we love this hot honey peach bourbon smash

One of the things I love most about making drinks in the summer is using fresh produce, like fruit and herbs. Right now I’m loving the strawberries and peaches, but the options are really endless.

If you like this recipe, you have to try this white peach sangria, and this peach mojito and both were made with using this delicious peach nectar recipe. I also really recommend my black-pepper-infused blackberry vodka collins or my tart cherry negroni sour.

We have a few more fruity, bourbon recipes I bet you will love. Try making this apple cider bourbon cocktail, this bourbon pear cocktail or this hibiscus pineapple bourbon cocktail. And we made this carrot bourbon cocktail with fresh carrot juice and a ginger syrup, which adds a spicy kick and a subtle sweetness – it’s a unique bourbon cocktail you might love too.

Ingredients & substitutions

  • Peaches – Fresh peaches work best, but you can definitely use frozen.
  • Bourbon – Use your favorite bourbon, it doesn’t have to be a fancy one.
  • Lemon juice – This adds acidity to bring out the flavors in drink, but you could swap lime juice if you have it. Fresh squeezed is always best for this, but since it’s a small quantity, I think you could get away with bottled.
  • Ginger beer – You can skip this if you want, especially if you’re only making one, but it adds a little extra flavor and fizz to the drink that enhances the peach flavors.

Making changes to a recipe can result in recipe failure. Any substitutions listed below are simple changes that I believe will work in this recipe, but results are not guaranteed.
